Stoica Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Stoica ("we," "our," or "us") is a guided meditation and reflection app built around the Stoic philosophical tradition. This Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding the collection and use of information through the Stoica mobile application.

We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable privacy laws.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information.

Specifically, the app:

• Does not require registration, login, or account creation
• Does not collect names, email addresses, or contact information
• Does not collect location data
• Does not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or IP addresses
• Does not use cookies or similar tracking technologies
• Does not use analytics or behavioral tracking services
• Does not contain advertising of any kind

All app data — your selected reminder time, listening progress, intentions chosen during onboarding — is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

3. Notifications

If you enable daily reminders, your selected reminder time is stored locally on your device. The notification is scheduled by iOS itself; no server is involved. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings app.

4. Audio Content

The app streams audio episodes from our content delivery network. Standard server logs (which include IP address and timestamp) may be created by the network provider for the duration of each request, but these logs are not linked to any user account or identity. We do not retain or analyze them.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Stoica offers optional in-app subscriptions processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not receive or process payment information. Apple shares with us only an anonymized transaction identifier, which we use to verify your subscription status — we cannot link this to your name, email, or any personal detail.

6. Third-Party Services

Stoica does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, or social media services. We do not share data with any third parties because we do not collect any data to share.

7. Data Security

Because we collect no personal information, there is no personal data to secure. Your local app data is protected by iOS's standard application sandboxing.

8. GDPR and CCPA

Since we do not collect, process, or store personal data, the data subject rights granted by GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability) and CCPA (knowledge, deletion, opt-out of sale) have no data to apply to. We do not sell user data because we do not have user data.

9. Children

Stoica is intended for adult users. The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, regardless of age.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the app after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
