Open After ("we," "our," or "us") is a self-imposed screen-time app. You choose apps to hold, and you unlock them for a set number of minutes by first doing a small habit — a short breathing pause, a glass of water, a few minutes of focus, a short walk. This Privacy Policy describes what information the Open After mobile application handles and how.
We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable privacy laws.
The following is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party:
Deleting the app deletes all of this data.
Open After uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how the app is used in aggregate — for example, how many people reach the habit list from the shield, which habit types are chosen, and where people stop. Specifically:
Analytics never gate any feature: the app works the same whether or not a signal is delivered.
Screen Time (Family Controls). Open After asks for Screen Time authorization for your own device only. This lets the app hold the apps you chose and release them when you complete a habit. There is no parent/child, family, or device-management component, and the app cannot hold anything you did not select yourself. You can revoke this authorization at any time in iOS Settings.
Apple Health. Open After asks for read access to your step count only when you open a step habit. If you decline, the step habits are simply hidden and everything else keeps working. You can change this at any time in the Health app under Data Access & Devices.
Open After offers optional in-app purchases (auto-renewing subscriptions and a one-time lifetime unlock) processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not receive or process payment information. Apple shares with us only an anonymized transaction identifier, which the app uses on-device to verify your purchase status — we cannot link this to your name, email, or any personal detail.
For Apple's payment privacy practices, see Apple's Privacy Policy.
The only third-party service the app talks to is TelemetryDeck, as described in Section 3. Open After does not integrate advertising, social media, or any other data-sharing service. We do not sell data.
Data on your device is protected by iOS's standard application sandboxing. The small shared store the app uses to coordinate with its own Screen Time extensions is likewise private to Open After. Analytics are sent over HTTPS.
The analytics data we receive is anonymous and cannot be linked to you, so there is no personal data for us to access, rectify, export, or delete on request. Everything that could identify you stays on your device under your control, and deleting the app removes it. We do not sell personal data. If you have a question about your rights, contact us at the address below.
Open After is intended for adults managing their own screen time. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them. Screen Time authorization is requested for the device owner only.
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the app after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
