Bug Hunt Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 2026

Summary. Bug Hunt collects no personal information from anyone, children included. The app runs entirely on your device, works offline, has no ads, no tracking and no analytics. The one optional purchase is handled by Apple behind a parent gate — we never see payment details.

1. Introduction

Bug Hunt ("we," "our," or "us") is a coding game for children aged 6–8 in which players guide a robot with arrow and repeat cards, find and fix bugs in short programs, earn stickers and fill a daily "Code Book". This Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding information in connection with the Bug Hunt mobile application, which is offered in the Kids category of the App Store.

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other applicable privacy laws.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information — from children or adults.

Specifically, the app:

All app data — level progress, earned stickers, the daily Code Book pages, sound preference and the Full Unlock status — is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party.

3. Offline by Design

Bug Hunt works entirely offline. The app makes no network requests, there is no server and no data ever leaves your device. The app requests no device permissions — it does not access the camera, microphone, contacts, location or photos.

The "Share this page" option in the Code Book, which is intended for grown-ups, creates an image on the device and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. Where that image goes is entirely your choice; we never receive it.

4. In-App Purchase

Bug Hunt offers one optional purchase, "Full Unlock", a one-time non-consumable purchase that opens every level of every game and all future level packs. The first levels of every game are free and never expire. The purchase screen, restore option and every other parent setting sit behind a parent gate (a simple arithmetic question) so that children cannot reach them by accident, and the app never shows prices or purchase prompts to the child during play.

Purchases are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not receive or process payment information. Apple shares with us only an anonymized transaction identifier, which the app uses to verify the purchase so that unlocked levels stay unlocked and can be restored — we cannot link this to your name, email or any personal detail. Stickers and other rewards are never sold.

For Apple's payment privacy practices, see Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Third-Party Services

Bug Hunt does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, social media or other SDKs. We do not share data with third parties because we do not collect any data to share.

6. Data Security

Because we collect no personal information, there is no personal data for us to secure. Local app data is protected by iOS's standard application sandboxing and is removed when the app is deleted.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Bug Hunt is designed for children aged 6–8 and is offered in the App Store Kids category. We do not knowingly collect, use or disclose personal information from children — or from anyone — and we do not need parental consent for data collection because no data is collected. Parents can review the app's behaviour at any time: everything the app knows is visible on the device, and deleting the app deletes all of it.

If you believe the app has somehow collected information from a child, please contact us at the address below and we will investigate promptly.

8. GDPR and CCPA

Since we do not collect, process or store personal data, the data subject rights granted by GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability) and CCPA (knowledge, deletion, opt-out of sale) have no data to apply to. We do not sell user data because we do not have user data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the app after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
