Algora ("we," "our," or "us") is an educational app that teaches computer science algorithms through interactive, step-by-step visualizations. This Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding the collection and use of information through the Algora mobile application.
We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable privacy laws.
We do not collect any personal information.
Specifically, the app:
All app data — your quiz scores, learning progress, mastery levels, custom playground inputs, and preferences — is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
Algora works fully offline. All algorithm content, visualizations, quizzes, and explanations are bundled with the app. The app makes no network requests of its own; the only network activity related to the app is Apple's own App Store infrastructure for downloads, updates, and purchases, which is governed by Apple's privacy practices.
Algora offers optional in-app purchases (auto-renewing subscriptions and a one-time lifetime unlock) processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not receive or process payment information. Apple shares with us only an anonymized transaction identifier, which the app uses on-device to verify your purchase status — we cannot link this to your name, email, or any personal detail.
For Apple's payment privacy practices, see Apple's Privacy Policy.
Algora does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, or social media services. We do not share data with any third parties because we do not collect any data to share.
Because we collect no personal information, there is no personal data on our side to secure. Your local app data is protected by iOS's standard application sandboxing. Deleting the app permanently deletes all locally stored progress.
Since we do not collect, process, or store personal data, the data subject rights granted by GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability) and CCPA (knowledge, deletion, opt-out of sale) have no data to apply to. We do not sell user data because we do not have user data.
Algora is an educational app suitable for general audiences. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, regardless of age. Because the app collects no data at all, no parental consent mechanisms are required under COPPA.
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the app after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
